Who is the Holy Spirit, and what is His role in the world and the lives of believers? In this sermon, Pastor John McCarthy explores John 16:1-15, where Jesus prepares His disciples for His departure and promises to send the Holy Spirit as their Helper, Comforter, and Counselor. Through Jesus' teaching in the Upper Room Discourse, Pastor John explains why the Holy Spirit is essential to the Christian life, especially during times of persecution, suffering, temptation, and uncertainty. This message examines the Holy Spirit's work in convicting the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment, revealing humanity's need for salvation through Jesus Christ. Drawing from Acts 26, John 3, and 2 Samuel 12, Pastor John illustrates how the Spirit brings sinners to repentance and points them toward God's forgiveness and grace.
