Associate Pastor

I came to faith in San Diego, California, on August 25, 1992. After trying to end my life, a woman named Irene knocked on my door and asked if she could pray for me. Two hours later, over a plate of spaghetti, her husband, who was a pastor, shared the gospel with me. He told me how God had saved him from a life of drugs and illegal behavior and how Jesus loved me and had a plan for my life. He explained that Christ shed His blood at Calvary for me and that if I confessed I was a sinner in need of a Savior, God would come into my life and begin changing my heart. He asked me what I had to lose after trying to end my life because I didn't think life was worth living. That day, I asked God to come into my heart and change my life. I confessed that I was a sinner in need of a Savior because I was tired of feeling empty.

I have been serving at Trinity Bible Fellowship for 11 years. I am most passionate about sharing the gospel through both words and acts of service. I also enjoy resource management, problem-solving, community outreach, and building fellowship within the church.

I am married and have five children, ages 41, 34, 24, 22, and 20. I enjoy hiking, information technology, boating, crabbing, shrimping, road trips to the mountains, beaches, lakes, the ocean, and parks, as well as movie nights and spending time in fellowship with others.

What I love most about Trinity Bible Fellowship is that the gospel is faithfully preached and that we are taught not only the Word of God but also how to defend our faith. I appreciate the church's love for God, His Word, the gospel message, our church family, our community, and those who have not yet come to know Christ.

Youth Pastor

I gave my life to Christ in the summer of 2003 when I was thirteen years old at a camp called Island Lake. It was there that I heard the gospel for the first time and came face to face with the reality of who Jesus is, my need for a Savior, and the hope of eternal life. In the months that followed, I began to grow in my faith and became more involved in church life.

Two years later, a friend invited me to Trinity Bible Fellowship. From my very first visit, I knew I had found my church home. I was immediately drawn to the careful teaching of Scripture and the depth with which God's Word was handled.

As I continued to grow in my faith, I began serving on the worship team. Over the years that followed, I developed a deep love for theology, apologetics, and evangelism. In 2014, I was ordained to pastoral ministry by Dr. Phil Fernandes.

Today, I have the privilege of serving as the youth pastor and as the bass player on the worship team at Trinity Bible Fellowship. My wife, Terra, and I are grateful to be raising our three children, Kora, Olivia, and Adam, as part of the Trinity Bible Fellowship family.

Chris has served on the worship team at TBF for many years and has wrote some of the worship songs we sing in church.

Elder

When I was 12 years old, I went camping with a friend and his family. Seeing the stars at night spoke to me of a Creator, God. A couple of years later, I made a “decision for Jesus” and accepted Christ.

But when I was 15 or 16 years old, I went to church with a friend.  We were asked if we wanted to receive everything that God wanted us to have.  At this time, my friend and I walked forward and we received the fullness of God and were baptized in the Holy Spirit. I believe that this would be more likely the time when I was born again, much like the household of Cornelius in Acts 10.  I see this time frame more as my “spiritual birthdate”.  

I have been serving at TBF for about 10 to 12 years in a variety of roles, including leading our Operation Christmas Child ministry, serving as an usher, deacon, and elder. The ministry I am most passionate about is worship. I believe it is just as important as the preaching and teaching of God's Word during our Sunday services. It is where we truly meet with God (John 4:24). I have been involved in leading worship and serving on worship teams, on and off, for more than 40 years.

My wife and I have two children. Our son, Joshua, is in heaven, and our daughter, Tasha, is an adult and a follower of Jesus. As a family, we enjoy going whitewater rafting about once a year. We also enjoy weekly visits with our daughter, spending time together and encouraging one another.

What I love most about TBF is that God's Word is clearly preached and taught, our pastors genuinely love Jesus and shepherd His people well, and our congregation reflects a wonderful diversity of people from various backgrounds, which makes our church like a small tapestry of what the body of Christ looks like!
